Holy Spirit Moment

Father God, I thank You for the finished work of Jesus Christ. I acknowledge that through repentance and faith, I am redeemed, restored, and made new. Today, I align myself with the full testimony of heaven. Lord Jesus, You are the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, I welcome You. I give You permission to fill every area of my life. Activate every gift, purpose, and assignment placed within me before the foundation of the world. I yield my will, my voice, my thoughts, and my actions. I receive Your presence, Your direction, and Your empowerment. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Teaching

Holy Spirit Was There From the Beginning

The Holy Spirit was present from the very beginning, woven into humanity's creation. In the Genesis account, the phrase 'Let Us' refers to the collaborative nature of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in making mankind. This highlights that the Holy Spirit is not separate or distant but woven into our very being and identity. Throughout the Old Testament, we repeatedly see the Spirit of God coming 'upon' individuals to empower them for specific tasks or moments — Joseph, Moses, Amasai, Isaiah. These examples show that, in those times, the Spirit's empowerment was often a temporary and specific 'anointing' for service.
Discussion Questions

The Necessity of Christ's Departure

When Jesus announced His departure, the disciples grieved over losing Him, focusing on His absence rather than the purpose behind it. But Jesus declared: 'It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you.'
John 16:5-7 — AMP

"But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you]."

  • Convicts us — Keeps us accountable to God, Sin and Judgment
  • Spirit of Truth — Points us back to Christ, who is the Truth
  • Advantage — Giving us access to Vision, word of knowledge, prophetic foreknowledge
  • Maturity — Even though Christ is not physically present, I have more than I ever needed
  • Empowerment — Works within us the ability to accomplish all that God has purposed
  • Teacher — Gives us spiritual knowledge, wisdom and understanding of all things

Changing of Management

The risen Christ steps into a locked room — not because doors opened, but because authority was already established. When Jesus declares, 'As the Father has sent Me, I also send you,' He unveils a Kingdom pattern. Jesus then breathes on them and says, 'Receive the Holy Spirit.' This breath marks a change of management, not a change of ownership. Christ remains King. The Holy Spirit becomes the Administrator of the Kingdom in the earth.
John 20:19-23

"Jesus came and stood among them, and said, 'Peace to you.' ...He breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit.'"

Filled, Not Just Forgiven

In Acts 19, Paul encounters believers who are sincere, repentant, and obedient — yet incomplete in operation. Paul's question is revealing: 'Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?' They possessed belief without understanding, forgiveness without power, and repentance without transformation. Repentance removes the weight of sin. The Holy Spirit releases the weight of glory. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit at salvation makes us alive to God, but the filling of the Holy Spirit makes us effective in the Kingdom. Indwelling brings identity. Filling brings function.
Discussion Questions
I AM KINGDOM Declaration

I am redeemed, but I am also empowered. I am forgiven, but I am also filled. The treasure within me is not dormant — it is activated by the Holy Spirit. I do not just believe — I live the Kingdom.

Are there areas of my life where I have invited the Holy Spirit to dwell, but not yet lead? What needs to shift?

What step of surrender, faith, or obedience is the Holy Spirit inviting me to take next?
